SPS - Special Educational Needs

Can I get help during my education?

Yes! If you face daily challenges, support is available to help you complete your education on equal terms with everyone else.

Get the support you need – SPS has your back

If you have a physical or mental disability, you can get Special Educational Support – also known as SPS. It’s a free support scheme that helps students with specific challenges succeed in their education.

Who can get SPS?

You can apply for SPS if you, for example:

  • are dyslexic or have dyscalculia (difficulty with numbers)
  • have visual or hearing impairments
  • have physical disabilities
  • experience mental health challenges like anxiety, ADHD or similar

What kind of help can you get?

The support is tailored to your specific needs. It might include:

  • special IT tools and software
  • a personal assistant or note-taker
  • extra time for exams
  • specially designed furniture
  • regular talks with a teacher or adviser who understands your situation

When and how do you apply?

You can apply for SPS as soon as you’ve been accepted into a programme at EUC Syd. Since it can take up to 6 weeks to process your application, it’s important to apply early!
You’ll need to provide documentation of your challenges, such as a certificate from a doctor, psychologist or other specialist.

Ready to apply?

Just get in touch with one of our SPS advisers – they’ll guide you through the whole process and make sure you get the right support.
