Whether you're in EUD or HTX, you can bring your education with you across borders. Every year, we send around 50 students abroad for apprenticeships or school stays – and you could be next!
Why go abroad?
An international stay gives you fresh perspectives, confidence, and global skills – things both you and your future employers will appreciate. In fact, studies show that young people with international experience do way better in the job market, and many even get inspired to start their own business later on.
Erasmus+ – support for your stay
Erasmus+ is a European programme that gives financial support to vocational students who want to go abroad. You can go for:
- An unpaid apprenticeship in a company
- A school stay at a vocational school abroad
Your stay needs to be at least 3 weeks long – but it can definitely be longer if it fits your education. Erasmus+ helps cover travel and accommodation, so money won’t stop you from chasing your dreams.
OPU – paid internship abroad
With the Danish OPU programme (Oplæring i Udlandet), you can do your apprenticeship abroad with salary after finishing your basic course. Either your Danish employer or you can apply for funding. Your school periods still happen at EUC Syd – but the rest of your apprenticeship could be in Spain, Germany, or somewhere totally different.

We've got you covered
Going abroad takes guts and independence – you’ll be on your own in a new culture, speaking a different language and building your own network. But don’t worry – we’ll get you ready!
We’ll help you find the right place, make the perfect match, and stay with you throughout the whole process. You can even start with a 3-week “trial stay” before committing to something longer..
“We make sure you get the right mix of challenges and success – that’s super important to us,” says Lene Bonnen Sandholdt, Head of EUC Syd’s International Department.
