What is Pre-IB?
Pre-IB is a one-year course that prepares you for the IB Diploma Programme – an international upper secondary education that can get you into universities all over the world.
Pre-IB is a great fit if you:
- Haven’t completed 11 years of school yet
- Want to do the IB but need a bit more prep first
- Like the idea of studying in English with both Danish and international classmates
The classes are taught entirely in English and are on the same level as the first year of Danish upper secondary school (1.g).
Pre-IB = IB preparation + Danish recognition
Pre-IB doesn’t just get you ready for the IB – it also meets the official requirements for the first year of Danish upper secondary education. That means you’re getting the best of both worlds: global perspective and Danish quality standards.
What happens after Pre-IB?
Once you finish Pre-IB, we expect you'll continue with the IB Diploma Programme at our school. But hey – you’ve got options!
You could:
- Transfer to HTX for the second and third year
- Switch to another upper secondary education – depending on which subjects you've taken
Already done your first year of upper secondary elsewhere? You might be able to apply directly to the IB Diploma Programme too.
