Conversion between grades

How your IB grades convert to the Danish 7-point scale

Are you an IB student wondering what your grades mean in the Danish system? Here’s a quick and easy overview!

If you've completed the International Baccalaureate (IB), there's an official way to convert your grades to the Danish 7-point grading scale. This is super important if you’re applying to a Danish education program, where your grade average often matters.

How does the IB system work?

When you take the IB, each subject is graded on a scale from 1 to 7. On top of that, you can earn up to 3 bonus points based on your performance in Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and the Extended Essay.

If you score 24 points or more out of 45 and meet all other requirements, you’ll receive the full IB Diploma. Otherwise, you’ll get a certificate showing the subjects you completed.
