Teknisk Gymnasium Sønderjylland will offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Sønderborg starting August 2011, pending the final approval from the Danish Ministry of Education in autum 2010.

Teknisk Gymnasium Sønderjylland will be the only technical upper secondary in Denmark offering the IB diploma programme.

IB – an international education
IB Diploma is an internationally recognized education. With an IB Diploma you can apply to universities and institutions of higher education all over the world.

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who will help creating a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

IB students are forever curious, fully engaged citizens, who both embrace their own culture and are open and responsive to other cultures and views.

Educational structure

The IB Diploma programme consists of 2 years. I IB and 2 IB. To comply with the Danish legislation we offer the Pre-IB year which is a one year cource preceding the Diploma Programme. After finishing the Pre-IB year, you can continue at 1 IB or any other upper secondary school - depending on the subjects chosen.

If you have already finished 11 years of studying, you can start directly at 1 IB, if your language skills are sufficient.
